Hypnosis Used To Fight Crime
It may sound like something from an episode of CSI Miami but Mark Sheppard of Mindcraft Therapy, Retford, Nottinghamshire, is helping bring Forensic Hypnosis to the UK. Better known for his Hypnotherapy, Reiki and Life Coaching, Mark say’s that Forensic Hypnosis can be used only as a tool to aid the memory of victims and witnesses of crime.
Forensic Hypnosis has been used in some famous cases such the Chowchilla case (California) when a bus driver and 26 students were kidnapped and buried alive but the driver and some students managed to dig their way out of the grave to safety. The driver was hypnotised and remembered all but one of the characters on the license plate of the kidnapper’s car.
As Forensic Hypnosis is relatively new to the UK Mark still spends most of his time helping people with phobias, stress, anxiety, weight loss and smoking to name just a few.
Another extremely powerful therapeutic tool that Mark now uses is Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT as seen on Paul McKenna’s shows. This involves tapping on acupressure points while reciting an affirmation. “I think it has to be one of the strangest techniques I’ve ever seen but also one of the most affective” says Mark.

I have been a non-smoker for just over 3 months.
Mark Sheppard was recommended to me by a friend and successfully hypnotised me to stop smoking.
I have been asked by a couple of people to ask Mark to return to Lynton to help them become non-smokers too. So, Mark is coming back to Lynton and will be here for a few days so I wondered …
